I ask because that would probably be considered the A service. In Wisconsin A is $400 and B is $800 In the past there have been discounts and one dealership mails out $100-$150 off service coupons. With the price of 12 Qts oil and filters I’d estimate parts & oil to between $120 and $240. Then there’s the concern over counterfeit parts purchased today. Keep your receipts if you are under warranty. Also: how do you reset the maintenance countdown indicator? I agree to the satisfaction factor of doing it yourself or knowing how to do it if a dealer can’t fit you in.

Everyone complains about MB and service fees. Meanwhile Honda charges $70 for less than 5 quarts of synthetic and an oil filter. It was $40 pre-covid. Pricing oil and filter: $40 if the oil and filter are on sale. So still a reasonable charge for dealers to pay their overhead. Then there’s oil disposal-free in my area. Getting out the ramps. Making a mess. No longer worth my time. II you can find someone you trust to do it right. Today, that’s a gamble. Now, $250 for R&R of 4 spark plugs. THATS RIDICULOUS. No access issues. Probably the cleanest job you can do. If you don’t strip the threads out because you waited too long or anti-seize wasn’t used previously, or the last minimum wage wrench monkey overtightened them. Because we know new “mechanics” start careers as oil, tire and parts changers prior to working up to diagnosis work. And don’t use too much anti-seize or you may end up with misfires. And check the gaps. Sorry-went down the I’m old and cranky rabbit hole. Thanks again for the video.

@@dmwi1549 For me I just don't like letting other people touch my vehicles unless I absolutely have to. Time is money to a dealer and they will never take the time and care that an owner will. It gives me a chance to give everything a good looking over and I don't mind the process, we have free oil collection points where I live so getting rid of the old oil isn't an issue. Even a B service isn't difficult on the Sprinter. I carry an extra Fuel filter in my tool kit when I travel, you never know when your going to get into a bad batch of fuel...knowing how to swap it and having the tools to do so can really save a trip if needed.

@@dmwi1549 It's about $150 in materials to complete an A service with Mann filters and OEM oil. It could be done less expensive with other brand oil and filters.

Bummer, would have been fun to say Hi 👍. Yeah the battery that we upgraded on the scooter worked perfectly. He was able to ride from our camp all the way around through the show over to the museum and all the way back with battery to spare.... and we still have the stock battery installed as well as a backup 👍

I believe it's scored as takeoff distance from the line + landing distance from the line (not to touch down before). Shortest wins. I think this was just a demo, not a real comp, as there was nobody out there making really precise measurements.

Thanks for the reply, this is exactly right. The goal is to see who can take off and land in the shortest distance. This was just a fun competition/demo like you said 👍

It was our first trip to Oshkosh as well, it was awesome. I love TW's, planning a longer distance off road desert trip with a buddy now. The flashing brake lights are a great upgrade 👍

Constant expansion is going to bring some of these issues, but it looks like the kids are just having fun. Also, jets are cool. I get it, it’s different, but it would be great if it didn’t become a “get off my lawn” event.

They are highly common here as well unfortunatly. Sooo many better options out there

@@Hodakaguy I think they’re good for in a vehicle for easy connections in the dashboard but any practical use doesn’t make much sense

They are great for motorcycle use as well. Agreed, outside of vehicle use there are other better connectors

@@Hodakaguy Nice! Skill is more important than fancy equipment. Do you still do Hodakas? I have an old timer friend here who was the first Hodaka dealer in the state. Most people nowadays haven't even heard of them.

Some guys had their airplane catch on fire approaching Oshkosh... Only reason YOU heard about it is because so many GA aircraft go to Oshkosh. This happens elsewhere, YOU just never hear about it.
